The Ohio Valley Conservation Coalition (OVCC) purchased the Tordon Tree Farm
The Tordon Tree Farm started as a Christmas tree farm in the 1950’s by Fitz Stroth. It continued on as a Christmas tree farm until the death of Tom Rader in 2010. Many local residents, including some OVCC supporters involved in this project, have fond memories of hiking around the Tordon Tree Farm searching for that perfect Christmas tree with friends and loved ones. All of us at OVCC wish that the Tourdon Tree Farm were still open and selling Christmas trees today. read more

Ohio Valley Conservation Coalition Attempting to Coordinate a Joint Project
Ohio Valley Conservation Coalition is attempting to coordinate a joint project between several entities for an approximate 20-40 acre wetland / habitat restoration and education area in Jackson Co Ohio. This area lies within what is believed to be the pre-historic Teays River Area bottomlands. We have been granted funds from Ohio Public Works Clean Ohio to purchase the property that is currently an agricultural field with Buckeye Creek running along nearly 1/2 of the property boundary. We want to restore the area into a wetland, with a walking path, and educational kiosks as to the importance of wetlands both as habitat and water quality.
